Scotiabank is a financial institution duly authorized to provide a broad range of financial intermediation services permitted to multiple and universal banks, pursuant to the General Law of the Financial System and the Insurance System and the Organic Law of the Superintendence of Banking and Insurance (Law No. 26702).

Its activities are classified under Group 6519 of the International Standard Industrial Classification (ISIC), which includes commercial banking and insurance-related financial intermediation activities.

Scotiabank Perú S.A.A. is a subsidiary of The Bank of Nova Scotia (BNS), a financial institution incorporated in Canada, which currently holds, indirectly through Scotia Perú Holdings S.A., 99.31% of its share capital.

The fully subscribed and paid-in share capital amounts to PEN 8,226,778,530.00 (eight billion two hundred and twenty-six million seven hundred seventy-eight thousand five hundred thirty and 00/100 Peruvian soles), represented by 822,677,853 (eight hundred twenty-two million six hundred seventy-seven thousand eight hundred fifty-three) registered common shares with voting rights, each with a par value of PEN 10.00 (ten Peruvian soles). All shares are fully subscribed and fully paid, belong to a single class, and carry equal rights.
